Members of the Wexit Alberta party and Freedom Conservative Party (FCP) voted with a huge majority of over 95% to merge. This is great news for the separatist movement in Alberta. For far too long, there has been infighting and a lack of cooperation with the various separatist movements. The future now looks brighter for Alberta’s interests.
Since the FCP already had official party status, I would assume that this new party, called the Wildrose Independence Party of Alberta (WIPA), will be official as well. More details will come to light in the next few days. You can read more about it from the Western Standard.
Surprisingly, the Western Standard is the only publication that seems interested in this story. I suspect this will change after a leader is selected. Hopefully they can find someone with executive-level experience. I would not like to see Brian Jean at the helm as I think his skillset is limited, and he’s tainted with the UCP banner.
Stay tuned for further developments…
